Because there are several crypto currencies, limiting it to one or two is not a good idea. I like Monero and Bitcoin, but IMHO Tezos would be better because it does smart contracts so many creatives use it to sell NFTs, E-Books, Music, and other collectibles with literally zero fees.
That said, a selected set of crypto would be better than just one.
https://nowpayments.io could really make this happen!

Buy Me a Coffee should accept crypto directly without having to use an intermediary service which would charge a fee. The big 3 proof of work coins should be used, Monero, Bitcoin, & Litecoin due to their actual use as currency unlike Etherium & other coins which are used almost purely for speculation & investment.
Payouts should be handled in Monero to protect the financial information of creators & users as almost all other cryptos use public ledger blockchains. Monero is like HTTPS in the early days, whereas other cryptos are using HTTP due to not implementing layers of blockchain encryption which can severely expose sensitive data.

Zaptosis: Can agree but this can be conflicting too. Wouldn't it make sense to offer a payout via cash or Crypto of choice using a 3rd Party. Not to mention relying on one cryptocurrency would feel redundant to some users as they may want other options such as ETC or BCH

Bitcoin via Lightning would be just perfect (= real-time payments with nearly zero transaction costs). A real USP for your platform compared to Patreon or Ko-Fi.

Everything happens on layer 1 without the need for extra programs & complexities, it is far easier & more convenient for users to use Monero over bitcoin lightning. While having the same benefits & more.

My Monero proposal has more support than all the other crypto proposals combined. Yes I've advertised to the crypto community to support it, but the fact that so many people are signing up for Buy Me a Coffee just to support this proves how popular this would be & how much business Buy Me A Coffee would attract if they offered Monero for payouts.

Zaptosis: Why wasting time implementing shitcoin payouts? 😜 I don't see any benefit. If BMAC wants to skyrocket their business and be future-proof, they should implement BTC over Lightning.

This would be awesome and an option to adjust the crypto prices separately from other payments or a way to offer discount for those who pay with crypto.
It would really set bmc apart from other sites.

Buyers should be able to pay with crypto, using a centralized service like NOWPayments which I see another commenter talking about, but more importantly Buy Me a Coffee should offer creator withdrawals in Monero which is far easier & less cumbersome to use than the banking system.
The crypto ecosystem is moving over from Bitcoin to Monero due to its blockchain encryption. Monero = HTTPS | Bitcoin = HTTP
